ATHENS - ACROPOLIS – KORINTHOS – EPIDAVRUS- SOUNION

| Day 1 | Acropolis – Museum – Plaka – Ancient Columns of Zeus After our arrival into Athens airport, we will visit the most famous archeological site: Acropolis ancient town. We can visit the brilliant ancient shrine of Parthenon, the Erechtheion surrounded from the 5 Karyatides made from the most famous architects: Phideus and Kallikrates. After a short history lesson, we continue our walk through the graphic streets of Plaka Town as we head to the totally new Acropolis museum where we can see many ancient exhibits (many of them are the originals – kept there to avoid city and time wear). At the end of the museum tour, we can watch a small video about people and their habits in the ancient Greece. Next stop of our trip is the Ancient Columns of Zeus located in the heart of Athens city. Our guide will lead us into a time travel through history to reveal the secrets of ancient Greece. After a short walk in the center of Athens, we return to the hotel. |

| Day 2 | Our day starts with a visit to Corinthus, a small town near Athens (around 1 hour with bus) where after a short walk at the streets of the town we will visit ancient Corinthus and St. Paul’s shrine. Our guide will let us know all the habits and the way of life of Corintheans and also the historical meaning of the town during the centuries. Late in the afternoon we return to the hotel. |
| Day 3 | Today we will visit the ancient town of Epidavrus (around 3 hours – 140km) and also the worldwide attraction monument: Epidavrus Theater. For many centuries the most important shows have taken place at this sacred theater. Every year, especially in summer many artists and visitors come from all over the world to play or watch a performance because of its unique acoustic and the magnificent view. Next stop is the ancient town of Mycanae. We can enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the remaining ruins considering that the ancient Troyan war has began from this place. Late in the afternoon we return to the hotel. |
| Day 4 | Driving along the coastal road past the wonderful beaches of GLYFADA, VOULIAGMENI, VARKIZA and countless coves, one has a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf. A crowning feature of the tour Cape Sounion dominated by the spectacular Temple of POSEIDON overlooking the Aegean sea. Sounio has been a sacred site since very ancient times. The "sanctuary of Sounion" is first mentioned in the Odyssey, as the place where Menelaus stopped during his return from Troy to bury his helmsman, Phrontes Onetorides. Archaeological evidence has shown that there were two organized places of worship on the cape by the 7th century BC: a sanctuary of Poseidon at the southern edge and a sanctuary of Athena about 500 mt to the northeast. Late in the afternoon we return to the hotel in Athens |
| Day 5 | After our breakfast we are preparing ourselves for the airport and the flight for the return. |
